When I lived in Turkey, I'd talk to taxi drivers a lot about cultural issues. One day, I was in a taxi and saw two men walking down the street holding hands so i asked the driver about that. He informed me that it was perfectly accepted for a man to have a male lover until the age of 30 when he was expected to marry a woman and father children. It a word, it was "all good". If you consider it was a fairly modern city near what used to be ancient Sparta (where having same sex lovers was not only OK, but encouraged) it made sense to me. So...in Iran, I'm guessing that their homosexuals may continue to be homosexual but it is frowned upon to be exclusively homosexual - much like the ancient Spartans. Some things just don't change!
